The Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) is a leading International partnership practicing contemporary architecture, urbanism, and cultural analysis. With offices in Europe, North America & Asia, OMA/AMO employs a staff of around 220 and more than 35 nationalities: architects, researchers, designers, model makers, industrial designers and graphic designers all work in close collaboration, and expert consultants are intimately involved from the beginning of the design process. OMA/AMO has worked on hundreds of projects and won awards throughout the world.
&&& Creative was asked by Rem Koolhaas, Principle of OMA/AMO to design an inventory of seven years of OMA’s tireless labor. A follow up book to his hugely successful SMLXL and Delirious New York.
Create a book that effectively communicated seven years of one of the most influential institutions and architects of our time.
We challenged the idea of the architectural book producing a magazine book hybrid or ‘book’ that was immediate, cheap and throw-away. The narrative flows geographically taking the reader East through projects, research plotting the cultural shift within OMA/AMO. The book extended into an exhibition held at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, whereby designed pages unfolded back to back as wall dividers. The spray paint logo was emblazoned across the glass façade.
"If form is content, then Content owes its form to designers at &&&, Simon Brown and Jon Link… &&& have had no prior experience in working with architects. And this is what makes Content so refreshingly impious and new…"

"You don't read Content in linear fashion, you page through it amazed, gradually acquiring Koolhaas' ultra-cultivated taste for the bizarre."
Tim Appelo, Cultural Critic for the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and the New York Times
